Draft. A black beer with a lazing brown head. The aroma has notes of chocolate, and roasted målt. The flavor is sweet with notes of chocolate, roasted malt, and a bit of prunes, leading to a dry finish.

On tap at Fyne Fest’, Achadunan, Cairndow, Argyll and Bute, Scotland, Friday and Saturday 12th & 13thJune 2015 A sort of everything but the kitchen sink beer in terms of flavour. Fruity, sweet, smokey and also a little tart. Some tart berries and smokiness show, it’s interesting is how best I can describe this. A bit murky on the pour. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov13 3.1

Keg at Mother Kelly’s, 11/06/15. Light black with a well appointed tan covering. Nose is rich chocolate melt, light roast, charr, dark fruit rinds, faint spice. Taste comprises chocolate milk shake, rich roast, toffee fudge, vanilla, light red berry, spice, malty shake sludge. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid porter - lots of depth and rich flavours for the ABV.

Mother Kelly’s. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is light and crispy. Malts are smooth and lactose sweetish. Modest chocolate. Nice fruity tang, trace of cherry. Barely there smoke. Chilli starts to bite but it’s never overpowering. Light finish. Comes together well. I’ve had more than enough spiced stouts but this one is decent.

Tap. Mother Kelly’s, Bethnal Green. Chocolate brown. Bubbly, tan head. Caramel. Ginger. Liquorice. Drinks dry, spicy, and tart. Tasty gear. Tad thin, maybe. Finish has more of the tartness. Heat on the finish. Leggy in the glass. Not straight forward, and better for it.

Keg at Mother Kelly’s - London. Pours rich town with a creamy tan head. Nice chocolatey and roasty aroma with nips of ark fruits, ash. Medium sweet flavor with lightly sugary chocolate, some raspberry, scorched earth, baking cocoa, raisins, cherries. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Subtle pepper spice on the the finish, with more cocoa, faint rubber, dark fruits, berries. Pretty nice.

Keg at CASK. It pours black with a thick light tan head. The nose is rich, big smoked character, earth, toasty sugars, roasted malt, coffee, smoked meats, milky chocolate and spice. The taste is sweet, sticky, earthy roast, ripe cherry, nice chilli spice, black forest gateaux, cherry cola, creamy, peppery, smooth smoke and mild bonfire with a dry, lightly spiced finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. The sweet-spicy-smoke aspects somehow balance out. Weird, but I like it.
