Cask @ Bar 236, Prestatyn [090615]
Caramel brown, bit hazy, dense white head, good lacing
Aroma of caramel, bit bready, soft cake fruits
Taste of brown caramel malts, soft toasted malts, some zest in there, quite fruity
Palate - Medium body, smooth. Finish of soft bitter malts.
Overall - Prefer the 77 over this but decent enough

Cask-conditioned at the Cornubia, Bristol 6/1/2015. Copper coloured with a frothy, off-white, head. Sweet, berry fruits and orange peel, with some dense, bready malts and big, bitter, finish. Good.

Cask @ Pub, Leicester. Dark purplish brown, yet translucent. Scent of fresh grassy hop and crystal malt with a bit of astringency. Initial sweetness turns bitter with a shockingly bitter finish. Well crafted and moreish, but the finish was too mouth-puckering for me.

Bottle courtesy of Geraint & Helen (next door neighbours) big thanks! consumed at home 30th December 2013 Pours dark reddy brown in colour. Tasty strong bitter with a good chocolate/bitter cocoa bite throughout. A little crunchy biscuit, maybe a few currants as well so perhaps a little garabaldi biscuit. Quite full flavoured, malt driven, it is pretty good. A6 A4 T7 P4 Ov13 3.4

Bottle shared with Ashton McCobb - Cheers Ash! Considering the quality of the two prior to this I wasn’t expecting much, but this was a very nice beer. Pours reddish brown, good off-white head. Aromas are brandy and christmas pudding, candied peel and raisins. Brandy snaps, actually. Or any recipe that involves baking sugar flour and strong booze. Good body, decent finish. Not a hint of hops to be had, which is sometimes a nice change.

50cl bottle from Vinomondo. Pours chestnut with a red hue. Nose of dried fruit and biscuits. The taste has toffee and nuts - praline. There’s also some burnt biscuity thing going on. The palate has a decent body with a nice tangy finish. Overall, yes I like this.
