Tap at One Mile End. Rather mild on the ancho, but that is logical enough. Mild vegetal depth. Cocoa tones certainly present. Pretty enjoyable beer. Steady, foamy, beige head.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2019) The beer poured clear and nearly black. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had burnt malts, creamy coffee and lightly bell peppers. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, bell peppers, burnt malts, earth and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet and bitter. A pleasant brew with pepper notes.

Third on a sample tray, cask at Alma Pub & Rooms, Islington. Near black in the glass, shiny naked surface, dotted spots on the glass. Moderate smell of chocolate malts, mildly roasted. Cocoa powder, liquorice, and chocolate to the taste profile. Lightly spiced malty ending. Satisfying. (London 13.01.2019).

330 ml bottle. Clear dark amber body with a big, creamy beige head. Weak in aroma. Flavor is a bit weak as well, reminds me more of a dark beer with cocoa powder than a proper stout. Not strong, but sharp bitterness. Sorry, below average, this was not very impressive.
