Cask at the Kew Gardens Hotel - London. Pours clear gold with a frothy, white head. Simple bready, lightly doughy malts in the aroma with accents of orange rind and toasted hay. Light sweet flavor with toasty sugars, bread, mellow grassy bitterness, some further rindy citrus. Light bodied with fine carbonation; good condition. Sweet finish with more bread and biscuits, baked hay, grain, grass, rind. Not bad.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Magna Carta Real Ale Festival 2015) The beer poured golden and mildly hazy. Its head was small and white. Aroma had earth, fruitiness and malts. Palate was medium bodied with low carbonation. Flavours were malts, earth, fruitiness, mildly toffee and medium bitterness. Aftertaste was malty and bitter. Nice and clean English beer.

Cask at the Rose & Crown, Sandhurst. Straw coloured with a thin cream head; sweet grainy aroma; oily body with a sour grainy taste and some spoice; and a warming satisfying finish with lingering dry biscuit. Pleasant enough - but not really matching the description!

(Cask at White Horse, Parson’s Green, London, 18 Apr 2009) Amber colour with brief, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with orange peel, grapefruit and resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with notes of orange peel and resiny/piney hops. Above medium body, fairly sweet. Tasty and very nice beer with generous amounts of hops.
