Our "English Bitter" collaboration with Crooked Stave has a traditional malt base with high notes of English Challenger and Fuggle hops, but fermentation with twelve different strains of Brettanomyces quickly makes it something far from ordinary. Now All Bretts Are Off.

Keg at Craft CG. It pours cloudy amber with a decent white house. The nose is earthy, funky, spicy, wood, brett, stewed orange, Irn Bru and damp leaves. The taste is crisp, bitter, woody, earth, light funk, soft fruits, light peach & orange and dry grass with an earthy finish. Light-medium and moderate carbonation. A bit tamer than expected, but rather drinkable nonetheless.

Keg at the Craft beer co Covent garden first birthday. Hazed golden orange coloured pour with a lasting fine white head. Aroma is weird woody cinnamon, cucumber, weird. Flavour is composed of woody, cinnamon, mineral, light grains, tangy pineapple, straw. Palate is light, chalky, high carbonation, bit thin. An uncharacteristic beer from siren.

Keg at CBC CG during the first birthday. Pours gold with a creamy white head. The nose has ripe fruits, berries, soft funk. Medium sweet with ripe berry character, bread, citrusy medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly resinous finish, melon, ripe citrus, very faint farmyard, bread. Pretty good, but it seems like the brett hasn’t really taken hold yet.
