Soul Shine is a Belgian-style Pale Ale with an American twist. In addition to its 5.2% ABV, Soul Shine is generously hopped with a blend of American hops to give it a distinct aroma of citrus and tropical fruit. This light-bodied beer has a crisp palate and moderate bitterness, with a spicy finish of fruity esters from our Belgian yeast strain.

Cask gravity at GBBF 2015 day 1. Clear light orange coloured pour with a fading head. Aroma is nice grassy pine, resin, orange rind, pine needle. Flavour is composed of semi sweet orange and pine. Light chewy hop. Palate is medium light bodied, moderate carbonation with a bit of chewy hop resin. Legit American pale ales.

Draft at Leesburg Flower & Garden Festival, a big thanks to Elwood for getting us into the beer tent! Slightly hazy golden color, huge thick white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of bright fresh sweet caffe macchiato. Taste is biscuity and bready. Nice.

12oz bottle pours a clear orange with some frothy, lacing white head. Nose has some orange, some dried lemon peel, some straw, a little spice, some malt sweetness. Flavor has some distinct grainy character, cracker, a little biscuit with honey, orange, lemon, straw, soap. Mildly astringent finish.

Cloudy orange tinted body with a nice, two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of yeast, wheat, coriander seed, light hops, tons of candy sugar and a lot of curacao and full oranges. Medium-bodied; Biting wheat and coriander seed flavours up front with a good amount of spice and grass notes, all covered with a touch of orange and curacao flavours at the end. Aftertaste shows a freshness from the yeast and wheat, but a good spice kick along with some sugars. Overall, a good beer with a nice character and even better complexity and finish. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Falls Church, Virginia on 22-April-2014 for US$1,49 sampled at home in Washington on 05-August-2014.
