Inspired a love of modern American pale ales. This proper hoppy northern brew is a full bodied 5% pale ale made with three malts, First wort hopped with 3 classic American IPA hops, more of the same added at flame out and given a twist with a shed load of New Zealand hops in the hop-back.

31st Aug 2017. Cask, half-pint. The Station Hotel, Oakengates. Golden pour, white head with lacing. Really strong tea element in the nose and taste. Do not usually like these sort of beers but this one was really good.

(Cask at Craft Beer Co St Mary Axe, London, 26 Nov 2015) Pale amber colour with creamy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of citrus, apricots and caramel. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, apricots, orange peel, caramel, a touch of toast and a generous earthy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Cask at the Terrace, Thomas St, Manchester (Northern Quarter) Friday 17th April 2015 Hazy on the pour, light powdery sediment, white rim. The bitterness seems harsh and a tad rough, it’s citrussy but not my thing. A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov11 2.9

Cask at the Victoria, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a bubbly long-lasting white head. The aroma is light malt light hop. The flavour is moderate bitter with a big spicy wood hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Lots going on here on the hop front. Super refreshing and very easy drinking. A great ale indeed.

Hazy amber beer, tidy pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and dry with fine carbonation. Floral start then some fairly bitter lemon and grapefruit peel, tangy too. Light creamy malt underneath, gets sweeter before the semi dry finish. Strong bitter linger. Fairly bitter overall.
