Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Figs & Grain. Pours totally clear yellow-gold with a tight, creamy white topping. Lightly sweet with sturdy bitterness, lemongrass, lemon peel, dry pale malts, pine needles. Light bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Clean finish, lightly drying, nice rich bitterness. Superb.

Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent developing carbonation on the back end. Slightly soft pale malts, a nice light creamy sweetness. Tangerine and mandarin evident from the hoppage, smooth pine and some developing citrus peel bitterness. A touch of brighter citrus on the back end. Looking for El Dorado Sakura and finding a touch. Would I have spotted it blind? Probably not. Finishes light, semi dry and crisp with a whisper of hop spice. Hugely drinkable but again I feel like I should be getting more hop depth from a Kernel beer.

500ml bottle from Westhill Service Station. It pours light hazy yellow - gold with a lasting, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, fairly subtle, grassy, grain, soft stone fruits, apricot, green and a bit weedy The taste is firmly dry, bitter, touch grassy, pine needles, grain, weed, pithy citrus, waxy rind, touch of stone fruits, apricot, greengage, bitter apple skin, peppery spice and straw with a drying, bitter finish. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Not really as bright and as expressive as I had expected. It's fine, but a bit lacklustre for Kernel
