Draft: Poured a deep black brown with a light brown creamy head. Aroma is rugged hops, roasted malts. Taste is hops bitter forward, roasted malts, little smoke.

Tap at the kernel tap room bermondsey arch 7. A jet black coloured pour with a a steadfast mid tan head. Aroma is big tar, burnt pine branch, sap, smoke, ashy roast, floral pine,. Flavour is composed of earthy roast, singed pine needles, sap, liquorice, robust roast. Palate is semi sweet, smooth, moderate carbonation. Really nice.

Keg at Mother Arch II, 20/05/22. Black with a solid lasting khaki cap. Nose is dark malts, nutty, cocoa powder, charr, dried fruit rinds, chocolate biscuit. Taste comprises chocolate biscuit, charr, spice, dark malts, toffee, dried fruit rinds, charr, chocolate dipped raisins. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close. Solid flavoursome porter ... from the Kernels top drawer.

From keg at the Kernel Brewery Taproom (Arch 7) in Bermondsey with Terje 12.03.22. Ebony. Brown head and lacing. Fine aroma a and taste of roasted berley, vanilla, juniper and citrus. Well-balanced with citrud bitterness. Very quaffable.

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up from Figs & Grain. Pours black with a super dense, creamy beige head. Medium sweet flavour with bright pine, sturdy roast, baking cocoa, earth, charcoal, orange rind. Medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation and velvety texture. Superb balance to finish, more strong roast, torched pine, earth, citrus rind. Outstanding.

Opaque dark brown beer, small tan head. Smooth palate, still has reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth dark malts, typically Kernel. Smooth dark malt cream, mild roast, slightly tangy dark chocolate. This edition brings modest ripe citrus from Centennial and Simcoe, touch of Colombus like hop filth. Cooling pine too boot. Comes together very well into quite a light finish. Nice job.
