Unlike Marzen, Festbier began to replace the export counterpart in Germany in the early 1990s. With a more golden color, a medium-high bread dough, and less richly toasted intensity, Festbier is more akin to a heavy bodied Helles with more hop flavor. Brewed with imported German Pilsner, Vienna, and Munich malts, Festbier’s clean and moderately strong malty flavor was developed entirely from a traditional double decoction process and natural carbonation, resulting in an authentic German-inspired celebratory lager.

The only date that I could find on the package was a sticker that said '7/16/24'. I'm assuming that is the 'Packaged on" date. There are no other dates on the packaging or cans.
$12.99 6-pk @ Publix
AROMA: Moderate scents of malt, and bread, and then just at hint of grass and sweet caramel at the very end. At first the aromas were very muted, but after the head had completely dissipated, the aromas increased to a nice level.
APPEARANCE: Pours a clear straw-gold with a 5-fingers tall, off-white head whose froth has small, tightly-knit bubbles which dissipate slowly with excellent lacing. The head is probably the tallest I've ever seen. In fact, it's the only beer whose head overflowed my 23 oz. wheat beer glass that has a giant bowl at the top.
TASTE: Lightly bitter at the beginning, followed by light sourness, and ending with a touch more bitterness. Personally, I find the sour to interfere with my enjoyment of the beer. Fortunately, the sourness is not very strong, so I'm able to ignore it for the most part.
MOUTHFEEL: This is medium-bodied with above-average carbonation. The texture is crisp with a touch of coarseness. The finish is fairly dry. A little too dry for my tastes.
OVERALL: This beer is not your typical festival beer. Which I find to be a refreshing change of pace. Unfortunately, the sourness is something that I could do without. I'm also not a fan of very dry beers. For those reasons, I probably won't buy this again. On the other hand, I'm not upset that I bought a 6-pack as they are a nice change-of-pace from the typical festival beers that tend to be on the sweeter side.

Ich mag wirklich das Green Bench Dosendesign. In der Nase herrlich aromatisch, Getreide, Haferflocken. Im Trunk recht alkoholisch, wo kommt das denn her? Aber auch crispy, bisschen unruhig, schade.

Can shared in Watford - cheers to Fergus. Pours clear honey-gold with a creamy, white head. Light-medium sweet flavour, biscuity malts, cereal, low bitterness. Light. I died with fine, massaging carbonation. Sweet finish, more pale biscuits, cereal, a little hay. Nice one overall.

Can from CW online. It pours clear bright yellow with a fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, sweet, honeyed grain, honeycake, sponge cake, earthy, cereal, light spice, cracker dry grass and nougat. The taste is crisp, dry, grassy, straw, spicy, peppery, grassy, straw, mellow honeyed vibes, sponge cake, white bread and cereal with dry straw finish. Average body and moderate carbonation. Nice honey accents to this. Moreish stuff.

12 oz. can from Total Wine - Melbourne. Pours a crystal clear light amber color with a small white head and fair retention. No lacing. Generic lager aroma. As stated on the can, this tastes more like a Helles or a golden ale versus an Oktoberfest beer. Smooth, clean and bready with a soft crisp finish. Medium body. A good lager, but not what I seek in an Oktoberfest beer.
