The second in our Stingo series of tart wood fermented beers, this one is a blend of foeder-soured beer with barrel-aged beers aged on apricot fruit and juice. Some funk, some sourness, a lovely apricot flavour and colour. Hello summer evenings!

Can at home, from HOTM online, 26/07/21. Hazed orange with a decent off white cap. Nose is tangy apricot, light funk, stoned fruits, damp hay, vinous notes. Taste comprises apricot yoghurt, grass, damp wood, light funk, hay bale, toasted grains, citric zip. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced acidic kiss. Solid work ... good apricot profile.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from All Good Beer. Pours unclear gold with a small, foamy white head. Lightly sweet with modest funk, tart apricot, lemony tang, mellow acidity. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Clean finish, tart, restrained apricot, more citric bite and refreshing acidity. Solid.

Very soft, not really heavy lactobacillus, apricot, could be a bit funkier, but too too easy to drink.

Can, picked up at the brewery. Deep gold with a moderate haze. White foam settles to a sturdy halo. Nose has apricot stone. Dried apricot. Light, clean oak. Some bretty funk. Taste is tart and fruity, with a little sourness. Smooth mouthfeel with fine carbonation. Slightly dry and very quenching. Touch of acidity at the end. Could be more punchy with the apricot maybe, but it’s a solid easy drinker.
