Barrel-Aged Golden Ale fermented with grape juice and aged in wine casks

A golden ale aged in wine barrels with Orange Muscat juice, Brasserie Blanc has an aroma of semi-sweet Muscat grapes and a delicate body. A touch of tartness is cut by a dry finish imparted by the yeast Brettanomyces, resulting in a flavor profile that is reminiscent of wild-fermented old-world ales.

Bottle split at L6, thanks to Kenny, 16/01/20. Hazed light orange with a decent off white cap that dissipates edgeward. Nose is ripe citric flesh, pissy twang, funk, damp wood, dusty fruit esters. Taste comprises sharp white grape tones, funky, pissy green berries, wood must, lemon tinges straw, damp oak. Medium bodied, spritzy carbonation, semi drying close with a light puckering close. Solid.

Level 6 bottleshare. Hazy gold beer, no real head. Light crispy palate, mildly dry, decent fine carbonation. Light malts, modestly sweet. Great winey vibe, chardonnay like white wine, slightly tart. Nicely offset by oaky vanilla. Light crispy finish. Very drinkable. Great wine!

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Kenny. Pours lightly unclear gold with a small, giant white head. Quite nice, moderately dry, some funk, white grape, lemony tartness, oak. Light to medium bodied with delicate carbonation. Quenching finish, lightly warming, more oak, nips of grass, lemony bite. Very good.

Frothy white head left a blotchy cover on a highly carbonated pale golden body. Grape, Calvados & apple aroma. Medium to thin aroma, sharp as a pin on the tongue with clean, very dry aft. Dry white wine, apple, grass, yeast & lemon tastes with a long sour finish.
