Barley Wine made with Maris Otter malt and East Kent Golding hops, aged for one year in Porto barrels. Aroma is dominated by pineapple and plums notes, together with noble rot feelings. Wood, oxidation and liquor-like viscosity.

Bottle poured, picked up at Garden Path, Bellingham. Dense caramel brown appearance, almost no head. Thick with sediment. Rich aroma of caramel, toffee, and barrel presence. Medium bodied for its strength Lots of caramel notes, semi sweet malt bill. Some toffee on flavor, about as intense as it shows on the nose. Dry, yet flavorful finish. Nice layered barleywine. Fun and tasty brew to stumble upon near my local.

330mL bottle, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out gentle port wine notes, toffee, and bready caramel. Flavour is full of port barrels, toffee, some sugars, and bready malt. Fairly light palate for such a high-gravity BA beer. Good but a bit unsophisticated and rough. Still, nice stuff.

Draught@Koht, Tallinn. Hazy deep red colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is toffee, some port wine, red wine tones with mild alcohol and somewhat dry wooden tones. Flavour is toffee, port wine, mild toffee with some alcohol and mild wooden tones. Quite on the sweet side of things.

Fles gedeelt door Roelzie1986, thuis geprobeerd. Het is een troebel donkerbruin bier met een dun schuim. Het heeft een port achtige geur. De smaak is houtig, zoet van port en wat zurig in de afdronk.

Bottle. Amber color. Raisin and oak in the vinous aroma. Malty sweet, alcoholic, vinous flavor with oak, raisin and porto. Vanilla. Nice.

F: thin, tan, quick gone. C: brown, hazy. A: fruity, vinous, red fruits, bit woody, caramel, red wine, bit sour fruits. T: malty, carbonation fruity, vinous, bit boozy, warming alcohol, bit oxidized, red fruits, woody, bit vanilla, full body and lower, nice for the style, fully enjoyed, 33cl bottle (12%) from BXLBeerFest 2018 in Brussels.

Sample @ BXL BeerFest 2018, shared with Belgian RB crew, thanks. Cuivre, col beige. Arôme marqué par les effluves d'alcool, rétro de grains, sucre candi, effet léger de Sherry, caramel et malté sur la fin avec léger en effluves de fruits noirs. Palais doux rappelant le sucre de canne, douceur latente entre les notes réchauffantes de l'alcool. Petite amertume sur la fin qui tranche avec l'effet épais et collant. Sur la toute fin je note aussi une pointe de grillé.

7 3 7 3 13Draft at BXL Beerfest ‘18, Brussels. Fairly hazy brown with a cream coloured head. Aroma of malt, caramel, toffee, light butterscotch and overripe dark fruits. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Very sweet grainy malt syrup, sugar with almost medicinal herbal, sweet grainy,… Sweet medicinal heavy plastic boozy alcoholic sugar, dull plastic & herbal coats your mouth, sticky weird, sweet aldolic, malt sugar,…. Sugar,… Okay but too medicinal BW
