29 November 2019. At Billie's Craft Beer Fest. Cheers to the lovely Anke, tderoeck, 77ships & Ghent beer crew! Clear orange-golden, no head. Aroma of straw, hay, wet wood, apple. Taste has sour apple & plum, bitter straw & wood with a soft lemony edge. Tart, woody, grassy hoppy finish, more funk, straw & cheese in the end. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Nicely drinkable Sour.

29/XI/19 - sample @ Billies Craft Beer Festival 2019, BB: n/a - (2019-1979) Thanks to all for sharing today’s beers!

Aroma: pretty funky, wood notes, veal, meaty, slightly smoky, some sulphur. MF: soft to no carbon. Taste: very cheesy, unpleasant, some orange peel, weird bitterness. Aftertaste: tea, tannins, very cheesy, pretty bad, don’t like it.

Sample glass from 5 liter bag in a box, directly from the 400 liter Bordeaux red wine 1st use barrel, brewed in october 2016. Thanks to Aniek from De Bierbrigadier Nijmegen. Color: Orange golden, no head. Aroma: Moderate tart, fruity, hints of wine, sherry. Taste: Nice balance of sweet, sour and bitterness, small and fast disappearing acidic vinegar notes in the throat. Fruity notes of grape and berries. Funky hints. Red wine hints, wood. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Medium body, no carbonation. Although this is a base beer, it is already pretty complex on it's own. Very nice.

150 ml. draft @ Foeders.Totally clear orange, few bubbles. Nose is surprisingly spot-on lambiek funk, not super rustic but nice orange peel, dried funk & oak. Bit watery, flat but with very good mellow non-rustic orange peel funk, lots of oak, super, bit watery but overall very good like an old lambiek given no raw edges to this this. Absolutely wonderful.
