Hand pulled half pint in the Shrewsbury Hotel (Spoons) with my late breakfast on 28th August 2026 (11:15). Poured a murky amber with an off white crust, end of barrel stuff, but I wanted the tick so didn't take it back or refuse it. Anyway it's malty and has a caramel flavour mostly, some woody bitterness but well passed it's best when I had it.

Cask at Tilly Shilling Spoons, Farnborough. Slightly opaque chestnut brown. Thin lively foamy off-white head. Aroma is malty, caramel. Slightly smokey. Berry edge. Flavourwise there's a berry sour streak, with a slightly coffee and woody bitter edge. Underlying malts. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-average carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Nice enough.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours a dark ruby with a small scummy cream head. The aroma is mainly floral hops with traces of spice and biscuits. In the mouth it is quite sweet but with a little underlying fruity bitterness. Flavour is mainly floral hops and marmalade plus hints of apricot and citrus. A little cola comes through later leading to a somewhat fruity finish. This is decent.

Cask-conditioned at the Seven Stars, Bristol 9/6/2016. Deep copper, with a decent, off-white, head. A malty beer, with some citrus character, sweetish malts, a touch of caramel, and some leafy hops, before a moderately bitter finish. Good.
