Clear deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is airy and dry, decent carbonation. Dry malts, mildly sweet. Decent pine and a little marmalade. Mild grainy malt and a touch of orange peel on the dry finish. Okay, bit too dry!

Bottle at home in Hackney - picked up at Kris Wines. Pours clear, somewhat light brown with a frothy, tan head. The aroma holds subtle toasted pine, orange peel, brown bread, nips of cocoa. Light sweet flacour with hints of ash, baking cocoa, some grassy and rindy bitterness. Light to medium bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Decent balance in the finish, with further cocoa, toasted brown bread and pine, some dried citrus rind. A quite serviceable hoppy brown ale.

Bottle at Croydon. It pours hazy mahogany brown with a medium beige head. The aroma is toasty, bitter - sweet, cola, dried fruits, cherry, charred wood and coffee grounds. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter, earthy, toasty, wood, leather, dried fruits, brown bread and tannin with a drying finish. Medium body fine carbonation. Pretty ok, a bit drying perhaps.
