Lambic with a kind of Sea Buckthorn, that growns in the mountains. ( It appears there isn't a real translation for it )

375 ml bottle at the brewery, 2018 vintage.
Dark golden, clear body, with a big, creamy, lacing, off-white head.
Aroma of cheese, barnyard, distinct sour red berries, citrus, some wood, subtle sweet chewy fruits, slight vinegar.
Tastes very lovely, with similar aromas, very elegant and balanced.
Medium, slick mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation.
Finishes smooth, medium sour, medium dry, citric, wooden, a bit cheesy, with some dry-earthy fruits.

Very tasty! Perfectly balanced, drinks really elegant, with a lovely combination of cheesy funk and sourish fruits. The sea buckthorn is greatly integrated, providing a subtle, earthy-fruity layer. Not among my favourite Cantillons maybe, but beautiful stuff nonetheless.

Bottle at cantillon. Pours golden. Aroma is fruit, rubber, sea buckthorn, sour. Flavor is sour, vinegar, bitter, sea buckthorn. Finish is sour. Overall: very good, love sea buckthorn, but again lacks the funk.

9 3 8 4 17Bottle at Cantillon when fresh off the plane from Bangkok. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma shows off the tart sea buckthorn with citric notes, tart stone fruits, light woody notes and a nice soft funk. Flavour is above moderate sour. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

Taster courtesy of SinH4. Pours clear golden. Aroma is Lambic funk, sea buckthorn, marmalade, cheese. Body is medium, strongly pinching sour, low fruit and some sweetness, moderate, carbonation. Even a bit salty. Shortish palate. Good!

30/07/2018 - 37,5 cl bottle @Cantillon Cloudy golden with nice white head (most foam I ever got on a Cantillon), very lively beer. Nose is first very cheesy than some old wood, some funk, lambic, bit hay, bit spices. Taste is first Cantillon lambic, some fruits, felt like grapes, bit lemon, than a bitter herbal spicy touch (I suppose from the sea buckthorn), earthy. I like this very much, never had this tastes before.

375ml bottle from Cantillon. It pours lightly hazy bright golden - orange with a decent white head. The aroma is tart, funky, fragrant, berry skin, hay, floral, redcurrants, musty aspect and old wood. The taste is crisp, dry, tart, bright, good mouth-pucker, vibrant, berry skin, minerality, berry skin, spice, damp leaves, floral, kick of acidity, pineapple, tropical vibe and hint of lactic tang with a firmly dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Bright and vibrant. Delicious and utterly drinkable.

375 ml. bottle @ brewery. Near clear golden, little head. Nose is lambiek funk all the way almost mildly mineral, hugely funky crisp, hay, pepper, fresh cellar & barrel. Taste is same massive mineral crisp funk almost like a spectacular Geuze since the fruit is low & way in the back too tasty to complain, great carbonation, bit sour with some bright lemon acidity, white grape very vague sea buckthorn but amazing lambiek.

2018 bottle at the brewery. Finally my 50th Cantillon for real, after some aliasing happened. Unclear golden color with nice white head. Aroma is fresh yeast, seabuckthorn indeed, woody, earthy. Taste is fresh yoghurty, lemony, seabuckthorn, and a surprising amount of earthy bitterness. Oily mouthfeel with medium, very soft carbonation. Very nice and balanced, but it could be even more complex.

2018 batch at the brewery. Pours rather clear pale blonde. Small but creamy and rather persistant white head with more lacing than you'd expect from a lambic. Smell is tad sweet by the fruit. Still funky, woody and tart with typical cantillon funk, but all of that is more in the background. Taste is tart, starts sharp and subtile fruity, turns more fruity. Than switches over to the more' standard' cantillon tastes we all came to know and love. Funk, woody. Tart,... No doubt it's a nice beer, but it's not their very best. I feel blessed I was able to drink it at a fresh price, rather than the black market price it used to have before re-release.
