Tap@CBC2015, Yellow Session - golden amber pour with white head. Sweet malty and tropical fruity aroma and taste, citrus peel, some wooden scotch enthused nauances on the palate, very nice but definitely preferred the big juicy punch of the original base beer.

CBC Yellow Session. Keg. Light haze on this gold beer, small cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Airy sweet malts, trace of vanilla and mild whisky. Dried fruits and crystallised fruits. Mild floralness. Modest orange peel. Light finish. Tasty but I think Beavertown really missed a trick not dry hopping it.

Tap at CBC 2015. Poured a slightly hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is big tropical citrus. The flavour is moderate sweet, light bitter with a super big sweet citrus, light alcohol palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. I never had so much fruit in an IPA!

Keg at the bottle shop tap takeover. Bromendsey. Burnt orange caramel coloured pour with a lasting frothy white head. Aroma is woody oak , spicy hop, orange skin, juicy mango, Bourbon. Flavour is composed of woody, vanilla oak, woody tanin, spicy orange peel hop and some marmalade. Such a different beer from the original, lot of the hops have died away. Palate is semi sweet, airy carbonation, evaporates off the tongue.

Keg at Bottle Shop Bermondsey - London. Pours clear, deep gold with a creamy white head. The nose has lots of jammy citrus, undercut by dry pale wood, some marmalade. Medium sweet flavor with more ripe citrus, orange, tangerine, some sticky pine, faint white grape, pale wood. Full bodied, lightly chewy, with fine to average carbonation. Finishes with some alcohol warmth, hoppy resins, pine, some woody dryness, more well ripened citrus fruits, pale bready sugars. It’s not bad, which I think is a testament to how good Bone King was; but I still don’t think barrel ageing hoppy beers is a good idea.

Keg at Bottle Shop. It pours hazy deep orange-amber with a decent off-white head. The nose is ripe citrus, tangerine, grapefruit, orange, white wine, gooseberry, white grape skin, creamy, wood and light sherbet. The taste is crisp, bitter, piney resins, creamy, mango, peach, tropical fruit punch, passion fruit, wood and some booze with a dry finish. Medium+ body and moderate carbonation. Sort of shouldn’t work, but doesn’t work.

Keg at the 4th Copenhagen Beer Celebration, Session I, 01/05/2015. Orange amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is floral, peach, punchy hops, grapefruit, tangerine, subtle BA tones. Taste comprises peach, apricot, light spice, straw, light booze, juicy hops, pine needle, light wood. Medium + bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent BA DIPA, subtle wood, hint of vanilla, takes the hoppy edge off. Much prefer the base though.
