Russell Brewing Company celebrates its 17th Anniversary with a limited edition barrel aged Scotch Ale. This strong, dark ale was brewed with Scottish specialty peated malts for a slightly smoky character then skillfully aged in Bourbon barrels. A special Anniversary Ale crafted by our team of brewers to thank everyone for enjoying our unique beers throughout the years.

Bottle 22fl.oz. @ RBESG14 - [ Clerkenwell bottle share. ] [ As Russell 6.26 17th Anniversary Scotch Ale ]. [ Vintage 2011 ]. Clear medium brown amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting to diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, bourbon notes. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, caramel, sweet malt, light laber larver - bourbon. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 Sunday tasting at Craft Beer Co. Clerkenwell. Pours clear amber with a foamy white head. Moderately sweet, lightly oxidised, with some dry and grainy bread, toffee. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes sweet with slight chocolate notes, earthy bitterness and old toffee. OK.

22 fl oz bottle. Pours dark amber to brown with a small tan head. Aroma is phenolic and toasted malty. Bitter, malty and light caramelish. Toasted, bitter and slight herbal dry finish.

Bottle shared at the RBESG 2014, grand tasting 10/08/2014 Craft Beer Co Clerkenwell. Mahogany brown / amber colourd pour with light greyish cream coloured head. Aroma is honey and caramel malts, emlanoidin sugars. Flavour is sweet caramel, honey, nutty malts with some raisin, and berry and some unrefined sugars. Palate is thin palte, watery, sugary. Meh.

Bottle @ RBESG 2014 Sunday Tasting. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty woody caramel aroma. Sweetish malty woody spicy caramel flavor with hints of vanilla. Has a sweetish malty woody caramel finish.

Bottle@Craft Clerkenwell (RBESG 10/08/2014) - brown coloured pour with beige head. Aroma and taste holds dark dried fruits, caramel malts, fudge toffee, some wooden bourbon notes.

Bottle at RBESG ’14, day 4 not so grand tasting at Craft Clerko, 10/08/14. Chestnut brown with moderate light beige spotting and edgework. Nose is subtle BA tones, light spice, dark fruits, caramel fudge, cocoa notes. Taste follows in the same vein, woody notes, caramel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent.

RBESG pt 19. Craft Clerkenwell. Grandish Tasting. Light haze on this deep amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and dry. Light caramel malts, tangy fruits underneath. Whisper of spice. Little vanilla. Light dry finish. Over dry but tasty.
