Cask at the Euston Tap, 29/03/15. Opaque rich chestnut brown with a well appointed beige covering. Nose is toffee, fruit cake, dates, light charr, nutty, vanilla essence. Taste comprises cocoa powder, toffee, hint of Terrys Chocolate Orange, dark fruit rinds. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent flavoursome mild.

Euston Tap. Cask. Clear dark amber beer, tidy cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Mild fine carbonation. Light dry thin malts, touch of lactose. Mild tangy sourish chocolate. Trace of coffee. Light semi dry finish. Instantly forgettable.

Cask. Sheffield Tap. Clear, reddy brown. Thin, bubbly, lasting, light tan head. Lovely bonfire toffee, and cocoa aroma. Some woodiness, and some stewed, dark fruits. Taste is fruity sweet, turning dry, with some bitterness at the end. Smooth, with a decent amount of body. Finishes fairly dry, with an ashy bitterness right on the close. Good stuff.

Cask at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear brown with a creamy tan head. The aroma holds burnt toast, grains and detergent. Light sweet flavor, harsh and astringent, with some charcoal, wood, chemical cleaners, teabag. Light bodied and flat. Astringent and undrinkable. A real shame.
