Three Johns. Keg. Clear dark brown - amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry with good fine carbonation. Mellow dark malts, little thin cream. Tangy fruits. Very mild smoke. Crisp nibbly finish, dry. Decent.

On tap at the brewery. Black beer lasting beige head. Odd aroma. Choc but mostly dates. Slight sourness. Green apple. Not much condition. I guess this keg is on too early. Vague smoke. Not my kinda beer.

Keg at the brewery, 17/01/15. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent off white covering. Nose is smoked malt, toffee, light spice, biscuit, light cocoa rub. Taste comprises toffee fudge, spice, smoked gammon, treacle, earthy notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Solid smoked porter.

Keg at the brewery. Black / dark brown coloured pour with a lasting creamy tan head. Aroma is hickory smoked meat, nutty, faint roast, rauch malt. Flavour is nice rounded rauch malt, smoke, camofire and dried fruit, little sweet dried fruits and soft roast. Palate is medium full bodied, medium sweet, moderate to high carbonation. Lingering smoke, pudding and soft roast. Good stuff, quite unique. I would classify this as a rauch beer.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours black-brown with a creamy beige head. Great nose, rich roast, smoke and dry cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with charred ham, further cocoa, raisins, fire smoke. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Good balance on the finish, further strong smoke, ham, earth, dark dried berries, burnt toast. Excellent smoked porter.
