Tasting at Leighton’s Flat. Thanks to Angelo. Lightly hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light, dry and crispy. Light dry pale malts, little sweetness. Skunky start to the hops. Mild piney floralness. Touch of bitter citric peel before a light dry finish. Decent.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy golden-orange with a thick white head. The taste is toasty, stewed orange, tangerine, juicy madarin, dough and sherbet. The taste is crisp, bitter, toasty, pine, orange peel, tangerine, orange spongecake, pepper and lemon rind with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. Rather tasty, even if not the freshest.

Bottle shared in London. Thanks to Ang. Pours perfectly clear gold with a frothy white head that settles into a cream. The nose holds a bit of melon and tangerine, with undertones of pale bread and pine. Medium sweet flavor with some gummy citrus fruits, more tangerine, white bread, light minerals, lemon rind. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Pretty well balanced in the end, with more melon, moderate pale malt sweetness, some citrus pith. Very nice overall.

Bottle courtesy Ang’, passed on at the Moncada Brewery Taproom (soon to open), Friday 16th May 2014 consumed at home Monday 26th May 2014 Pours gold with white small frothy head. A little yeast on nose (I tipped it in) but with enough citrus (lemony?) to counteract this. Admittedly not as young or as fresh as it could have been, I understand from Ang’ it was brewed towards the end of last year, but still decent. A leisurely lingering steady bitterness.
