Tasting at Bruce’s pad. Almost opaque dark brown beer with a small pale cream coloured head. Palate is soft and airy. Very light carbonation. Light lactose in the super mellow dark malt. A little airy malt cream. Very light spicy hop, touch of pine. Light bitternesd and a light semi dry finish. Not bad if a bit lightweight.

Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours darkest brown with a medium beige head. The nose is bitter-sweet, roasted malt, liquorice, blackcurrant, cocoa, toast, sherbet and pine. The taste is roasted malt, earth, dirt, cocoa, spice, ash, coffee grinds, pine and pepper with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. No real depth, but a decent enough Black IPA.

Bottle split at Bruce’s pad, big thanks to the CDA dealership director - aka Leighton, 09/12/13. Extremely dark mahogony brown with a good sized light tan head. Nose is light roast, mineral bite, tropical fruit tango, jammy dark berry notes, slightly skunked hoppings. Taste comprises earthy hops, cocoa, bitter grapefruit, dankometer on the yellow/amber border. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finale with light roastings and grassy hop bitterness. Ok CDA, entry level type offering, nothing unpleasant but nothing to rush back for.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London - this one I got somewhere in MA. Pours clear brown with a creamy, yellow-tan head. Toasty bread in the nose, some burnt earth, dusty pine. Light sweet flavor with burnt and spicy pine, burnt toast, bittersweet cocoa. Light to medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Bitter burnt grass finish, earth, dark bread. Fair.
