(Draft at Biererei, Berlin, 16 May 2026) Dark brownish ruby colour with foamy, tan head. Malty, vinous nose with notes of oak wood, brandy, caramel, dried fruit and raisins. Malty, vinous, slightly boozy taste with oak wood, brandy, rye bread, caramel, dried fruit, raisins and a mild spicy bitterness in a vinous and warming finish. Full body, sweet. On the boozy side, but really rich and tasty. Great beer.

Op tap bij Biererei. Donker roodbruine kleur, geen kraag. Bourbon, rogge, rozijntjes, vijgen, ruikt top, smaak is erg zoet, fruitig, gedroogd fruit, kersen, hoog Dr Pepper / Cherry Cola gehalte, ook door het fijne koolzuur, bourbon, vanille, moutig, stroperig. Bitterzoete finish. Ook weer veel te duur voor wat het is.

Drucken på fat på Peders i Köpenhamn. En eldig bw med värmande alkohol, söta malt, honungs och whiskey smaker med en liten spännande dilltouch

On tap. Pours a dark brown with light head and lots of carbonation. Aromas of rich bourbon, toffee, a little maple syrup, raisins and caramel malts. Flavors follow same with a bit more bourbon and additional oak. Warm finish, and good scrubbing carbonation. Excellent.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 23/01/2026.
Deep mahogany brown topped with a light beige cap that veers to the edge.
Nose is ripe fruit esters, sticky toffee, bourbon rip, molasses, toasted brown sugars.
Taste comprises big barrel tones, spice, booze tunes, figs, raisins, plums, dark malts, toffee.
Full bodied, oily feel, semi drying close with a balanced rising boost.
Solid BA Life.

Bottle. Bright clear dark amber beer, a small and particularly short lived pale tan head. Light palate, a very mild viscosity, good fine minerally carbonation. Smooth malts, a caramel creamy sweetness, not oversweet. Lovely ripe fruity bourbon, punchy flavours but, despite the hefty abv, not particularly boozy. Smooth and mildly dry finish. Rather good then. A barleywine in utter subservience to its barrel but, when the barrelling is this good, well, huzzah!
