Our 3.8% pale amber summer beer proudly supports the Marine Conservation Society.
Fat Sprat is brewed with Pale Ale malted barley, Munich, Cara and Black malt, with Columbus, English Goldings, Cascade and Chinook hops.
It has a lovely citrus, grapefruit aroma with some spicy notes. On the palate, the citrus character of the hops shines through, balanced with a light biscuit flavour and a crisp, dry finish.

Cask: hand-pulled pint in the Knights Templar, London on 12th Sep 2014. Poured into the tall Adnams glasses now available all over the UK where their beers are sold (I do not like them). Anyway the beer was a good mahogany colour with a full white head and looked fine. Hoppy nose with a strong malt hint as it warmed in the glass. The taste was also a blend of both hops and maltiness, pleasant without testing the taste buds too greatly. Light caramel coming through the slightly bittering hop content.

Cask at the Crown Rivers, LHR T5, 20/06/14. Very lightly hazed amber with a well appointed off beige head that dissipates then retains. Nose is candied sugars, light hop, perfumed notes, cotton candy, orange rind. Taste comprises berry fruit, light mineral notes, caramel, hint of perfume, orange pithiness, Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close with light hop bitterness and mineral pangs. Ok lightly hopped amber, not really a bitter for me.

Cask at Christian Firtal. Dark amber with a small off-white head. Fruitty aroma with dark berries, some caramel and grassy notes. Dry and fruity, very refreshing flavour with a wonderful blackcurrant and raspberry note reminding me of my first cask bitters at Frigate and Firkin pub in West Kensington in the mid-90s.

(On Tap) Clear copper colour with nice loose white head. Pleasant light malty aroma. Light body, light carbonation. Nice smooth light malt flavour with gentle slightly citrusy and vegetable hoppiness leading to a god bitter finish. Overall a great tasting and easy drinking beer.
