Blimey, hope this hadn't been on since April! Keg at William IV. Ultra roasty, spicy, booze. Coffee, burnt, hmmm. Not actually that nice. Booze was overwhelming. Tasted nice for a sip, but struggled a little with a third.

Keg at King William IV during Bunny Basher 2014 - London. Pours deep black-brown with a thick, beige cream head. The nose has some dried blackberries and baking cocoa. Medium sweet flavor with nice, rounded baking cocoa, dried blackberries, earth, some berry skin tannins. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with more tannic, dry berries, lightly chalky cocoa. Nice stuff.

Keg at Bunny Basher 2914. It pours jet black with a small tan head. The nose is earthy, rich-roast, big liquorice, dark fruit, berry yoghurt and cake. The taste is rich, earthy, big liquorice character, tart raspberry, faint jam, dark chocolate, tar, oily, charred earth and dull herbal with a rich, liquorice finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Hides the abv very well. Very savoury. A well-made beer, just too much liquorice for me to love it.

On tap at Bunny Basher (Brodies Beer Festival) King William IV, Leyton, London, Friday 18th April 2014 Pitch black with wonderful creamy textured light beige head. Soft in mouth a little gritty chocolate and lots of liquorice but no raspberry. Thick mouthfeel, actually there is a fruity twang, good. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8

18th April 2014
Bunny Basher at the KWIV brewpub. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and viscous. Good fine carbonation. Smooth rich dark malt, salty licorice (I’m guessing the Danish variety). Touch of dark malt.cream. unsweet raspberry runs through. Smooth finish. Tasty and rich but would have liked it sweeter.
