Tasting at the ever gracious ChrisO’s. Lightly hazy gold beer, tidy off white head. Palate is airy and dry. Fine carbonation. Light tangy dried fruits. Airy floralness. Light dry finish. Fresh air beer, inoffensive.

Bottle @ Chriso May 14 tasting. Not a wee heavy or scotch ale by any stretch. Pours hazy amber, some light citrus, white wine, thin sweetness, light bitterness. A little weak, but alright I guess.

Bottle via trade, shared at Chriso. It pours clear golden with a medium white head. The nose is toasted grain, light sweetness, apple and dull sort of smoke. The taste is crisp, doughy, hay, grain, touch watery, toast, apple and melon. Lightish body and moderate carbonation. A bit tepid. Scotch ale??? I think not. So-so.

Chriso May 2014 tasting. Hazy amber lasting beige head. Some Belgian yeast. Some toffee. I thought ok. Some hop. Ok.

Review according to BJCP2008 guidelines (style 9E). Bottle 50 cl - Batch 003-14. AROMA: strong floral and resinous hop aroma. very low malt aroma for the style. APPEARANCE: light copper color with orange tint. average ivory head with low retention and no lacing for the rated abv. TASTE: strong hop flavour with no malt. strong bitterness that lingers from the beginning to the end. completely the opposite of the advertised style. PALATE: very thin body. no alcohol warmth. low carbonation. OVERALL: strangely, perhaps another case of mislabelling from this brewery as this "Scotch Strong Ale" more resembles a poor IPA...

[Thanks to andregoncalves]. Bottled. Brown colour with minimal and quickly diminishing off-white head. Aroma has notes os light caramel and moderate toasty with yeasty hints. Flavor is yeasty, slightly caramel and with a poor maltiness.

Bottled, thanks andregoncalves! Hazy amber, rich head. Fruity canteloupe aroma. Mid sweet with medium body and clean, rounded mouthfeel. Yeasty with fruity pineapple and bandaid. Piney bitterish finish. More flavours from fermentation than from malt, which is not a great thing for a scotch ale.
