Can: Poured an amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of cinnamon and cloves with lightly caramelized malt notes. Taste is also a mix of caramelized malt notes with some cinnamon and light cloves notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. Enjoyable pumpkin ale with good drinkability.

Copper pour, small head. A nice pie spice Aroma. Cinnamon, cardamon, and some nutmeg. This is nice for a chanhe, subtle pie spices to accent the nice sweat, bready malts of the base beer. More and more these pumpkin beers are smashing you over the head with these spice bombs that are undrknkable. The base beer is pleasant and malty, with a nice bready, caramel base and some chewy cereals. The hints of spice are welcome and keep me interested.

I was surprised to discover Quebec breweries no longer seem to really do pumpkin beers meaning I was extra glad of the three I’d snagged in Toronto at the LCBO. Lake of Bays Pumpkin Ale 6% Deep orange brown with light tan foam and a big spice aroma featuring cloves, vanilla and nutmeg plus pleasantly sweet pumpkin notes. Medium to full bodied and fairly smooth. The taste adds a touch of dark molasses in the finish which is joined by rough spice notes. Ok but as my uncle said Great Lakes’ pumpkin beer is better…

This pumpkin ale poured a deep amber colour with a white, creamy, soapy head. Medium lacing. Scents include allspice, caramel, pumpkin and sweet malt. First swig was smooth and creamy with flavours of pumpkin, allspice and honey. Finish is slightly bitter with medium pumpkin pie flavour lingering.

Pours a slight hazed amber colour with a beige head, decent stay and lacing. Pumpkin puree smell at first with the typical spices. Lots of butterscotch notes come out after breathing. The vanilla is an interesting addition, adding to the sweet aromas. In the taste, it is more of a normal pumpkin ale with the spices (nutmeg, cinnamon) and puree. Just a little on the mild side. Wish it had a little more bite, but good all around.

I think the Wild North Pumpkin Ale is this beer. The pumpkin spice is relatively mild, which is nice if you don't want an overspiced beer. I find that there are some tannin-like off flavours, and the beer isn't full bodied enough. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
