Usually corn is used by big breweries as additional ingredients just to lower the price of production. Our Cortez - named after the spanish conqueror - contains corn for another reason. Thanks to a unique method developed by the Rizmajer Brewery Cortez is a real mexican style beer with 55% corn and 45% light, pilsner malt. It's not a beer with corn - it's a corn beer.

This corn beer represents a softer, sweeter flavour. The combination of the corn and hops evokes the american-mexican beers' taste in a less spicy, more pure and simple way. Cortez is the perfect example that it's not the advertisement and marketing what makes a good beer, but the knowledge, experience and the good amount of the highest quality ingredients. It fits perfectly to spicy and exotic meals - doesn't matter if it's chili con carne or sweet&sour chicken.

Tap at Legfelsőbb Beeróság, Budapest. Poured a clear very light straw colour with a thin white head. The aroma is yeast, malt, very light hop. The flavour is light bitter with some sweet notes and a malty woody hop bitter, light bubbly palate. Light bodied with lively carbonation. Way too light all round and only worth a tick, nothing more. It’s amazing that beers like this survive.

Nagy, nagyon tartós hab, egészen világos borostyán szín. Enyhe, viszonylag semleges illatvilág, érezni benne a kukoricát. Malátás, kukoricás ízek. Enyhén édeskés, jelzés értékűen kesernyés, közepesen testes és szénsavas. Kellemes itóka, jó egyensúllyal.

Tap at Bestia, Budapest - this one was served as their daily ’joker’ in the beer fly 4. Poured pale gold with a lasting white head. Aroma is sour, lemon, and nettle. Medium sweet, light bitterness. Quite high in carbonation, light body, texture is creamy. Finish is dry and minty. Drinkable but least favoured of the 4.
