Bottle shared at the RBESG ’14, Grander Tasting @ Moncada, 09/08/14. Chestnut brown with a moderate beige covering. Nose is sweet brown sugars, dark fruit, toffee fudge. Taste comprises mellow dark fruit vibes, sweet licks, toffee, light spice. Medium + body, fine carbonation, lightly warming booze in the close. Decent barley wine, pretty mellow action all round with very subtle BA!

RBESG pt 18. Moncada. Grand Tasting. Almost clear dark amber beer, no real head. Palate is light and dry. Fine carbonation. Dry malts with a toffee streak. Brandyish alcohol. Little dried fruits. Light dry spicy finish. Interesting.

Bottle shared during the RBESG 2014 London Grand Tasting - Moncada Brewery. Pours clear amber with a white cream head. Very good stuff, nicely balanced with rich bready malts, toffee, candied sugars. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Lightly warming on the finish, some earth, charred toast, dried fruits. Very nice.

33cl bottle. BBE 2016-02-03. Deep brown, thin white head. Toffee, lots of vanilla, sweetness, sweet alc.soaked fruits. Flavor has vanilla, toffee, dried plums. Alcohol well hidden, not overly sweet. Quite simple though, vanilla overload.

Bottle bought @ Systembolaget. Pours reddish wooden brown with a very small bubbly reddish beige head that leaves some spotty trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet, malty and fruity with sweet dark bread, toffee, vanilla fudge, biscuits, rasisins, dates, plums in brandy, charred wood, bourbon, raisin bran, alcohol and hints of smoke. Taste is sweet, tiny bitter and malty with sweet dark bread, caramel, toffee, vanilla fudge, sweet soy sauce, charred wood, moist, soil, bourbon, moist hay, raisins, dates, St. John’s wort, alcohol and hints of cornflakes. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny sticky sweet, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, slightly bitter and malty with sweet dark bread, caramel, toffee, charred wood, vanilla fudge, hay, bourbon, raisins, soil and alcohol. Rather hot at the moment and also a bit thin and uncomplex. Have a few more bottles so I’m hoping some future oxidation might make this more interesting.
