Bottle, 22oz. It pours a clear, dark golden body under a dense, light beige head leaving curtains. The aroma is a tad bready I think, with caramel and a nice hoppy touch. Oranges, some pine cones and a touch of peaches. Soft on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation, medium bodied. Peaches, oranges and some bready, caramelish malts in the flavor, lacking a bit on the bitterness. Short fruity finish. A nice one, but a tad boring. Drinks easy. 140830

Bottle @ fonefan tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is amber. Aroma and taste are rich hops, little flowers, malt, caramel, and fruits. Bitter finish. Hops are a little old I think.

Bottle. Amber body with an off-white head. Aroma of pine, resin, leafy hops, caramel and toasted grain. The flavor is lightly to moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. It finishes lightly sweet and moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Taste of resin, pine and grapefruit. Another resiny, piney ipa, though better balanced with the malts for my tastes than many.

On draught at Capital Ale House Innsbrook. Pours a clear copper color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of hops, tangerine and malt. Medium-bodied with flavors of tropical fruit, hops and caramel malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hops aftertaste. Decent overall.

Draft at Barley’s - Asheville. Pours clear gold with a foamy white head. Some ripe citrus in the nose, orange, tangerine, but of pine. Medium sweet flavor, some more citrus, bit of rind and grass, pine. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Somewhat bitter to finish, more pine, citrus rind, balancing dry bread malts. Decent.

Rich, slightly hazy amber and copper coloured body with a nice three centimetre tall tan head and a good orange glow. Aroma of bright piney, resinous and citrus hops, some good malt and hints of peaches and apricot sweetness. Light-bodied; Strong citrus and grapefruity hops with a mild malt flavour and some subtle sweetness from oranges and apricots. Aftertaste shows a proper balance of malt and hops with a hint of hop bitterness, but nothing like a traditional IPA. Overall, a nice beer that shows closer to an APA than an IPA. Nice, but the hops simply aren’t there, and the complexity isn’t too strong. Good to sample, but there are much better IPAs (or even APAs) out there. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Washington (Foggy Bottom), DC on 13-January-2014 for US$1.99 sampled at home in Washington just two weeks later on 01-February-2014.
