Samuel Adams American Kriek: The intense black cherry character in this beer comes from Balaton cherries, which were discovered in Hungary and are now grown in Michigan. These special cherries are prized for their depth of flavor. The tartness from the cherries is balanced by a rich, malty character with toasted oak notes added from the barrel aging.

Bottle shared by Jcwattsrugger. Pours muddy reddish brown. Nose and taste of cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh sweet maraschino cherries and pie crust. Medium body. Tasty as a fruit beer.

750 c&c from Liquor Max. Pours med cherry red with a foamy pink/beige head. Aromas of fruit and oak. Med body/firm carb. Flavor is slightly sweet cherry and sour cherry pit. There’s also a sour aspect which could be oak. Last taste was slightly tart.

Pored into a snifter. Color is Deep red with good frothy head. Great lacing that follows til the end. Nose is a simple Black Cherry. Taste like sweet tarts yet with NO sugar... natural sweetness. Has a clean tartness that leaves you wanting more. the finish is crisp and refreshing, leaves a very wet mouth feel. I was pleasantly surprised by this and would buy it again.... one of the best fruit beers I’ve had. Batch # on the bottle was 1340. I shared this with liveFREEorRYE.

Sample at SBWF 2010. Reddish with a minimal head. Cherries and some light funk in the aroma. Very drinkable with taste of cherries, malt and some sweetness. Not that sour. Descent stuff.

Dog Days of Summer Gathering, thanks growler. copper color, light off-white. aroma, cherry tartness is mild along with spotty trace of barrel. flavors has some wild cherry tartness though staying mostly on the more syrupy side, barrel adds a mild tingly mouthfeel that overall remains weak for a fizzy carbonation. A sub par version that could really have made better use of these black cherries. The cherry aspect is mild, leaning on the fake overly sweet side.

750mL bottle, the best part of this beer is the cool bottle and the pretty color. Otherwise, this is nasty, wood and vomit-cough syrup, ew.

Bottle Thanks to JohnGalt1. Like I said before the bottle it’s all about how cool the bottle looks. Pours out a red topped with a thin head. Aroma is of light sweetness, cherries, and a little band-aid. Taste more of the cherries with a touch of tart. I am happy I was able to try this but I think it needs some work.

A really unique looking 750ml bottle shared at the DC Local tasting. Pours a transparent bright ruby red with a thin, white head. Aroma is fairly mild, a little tartness, fruity, some light wood. Someone at the tasting remarked, "it tastes like Hawaiian punch!" Flavor is very juicy, cherries mostly, just a little tartness at the end. Finish is a little watery.

Pours ruby into a tumbler. Light pink micro head with excellent retention leaves slight sheets. Oak and cherry funk. Sharp marshmallow and oak upfront turning slightly tart in the dry, lasting cherry pit finish.
