Keg at the brewery during the inaugural London Bimble. Pours clear, deep gold with a foamy white head. Quite solid overall, rich hop character, tangerine, bread. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Resinous on the finish with ripening citrus fruits, bready malts, tangerine, pine. Pretty well balanced. Good one.

Bottle, Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Hazy amber pour with a lingering thin off white head. Aroma had some piney hop, citrus and malts in the house. Sweetish flavour had notes of pine, caramel, spice, wood and tropical fruits. Dryish bitter finish. For some reason a bit better than anticipated.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy dark amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is big grassy nettle hop, light fruit and resin. The flavour is strong bitter with a floral resin woody spice hop, light alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. As Imperial IPA’s go, this is a good one. It’s nice to see some flavour and the alcohol less dominant.

Bottle from Oddbins, Blackheath. Caramel coloured pour with an off-white pour. Rich nose of walnuts, apricot and chocolate orange. Quite a smooth number. Flavours of caramel, sweet spice, bitter citrus and fresh herb. Quite dry. Heavy hop linger. Bitter finish. Good stuff.

330mL bottle, pours an opaque dark orange amber with a small beige head. Nose is on the maltier side, with woody caramel malts upfront, and a fairly strong resinous hop profile. Flavour is dry, malty and woody, beginning with oaky wood, dry caramel malts, and a medium astringency from the big resinous and piney hop profile. Decently balanced, and although on the maltier side, there is no residual sugar. A tad too malty for me, but pretty decent still.

Bottle from Sourced Market, St. Pancras. Hazy amber. Filmy, white, sticky head. Peachy, toffee sweet. A little spiciness. A little banana fustiness, which this beer gets away with. Taste is thick sweetness, with a surprisingly light bitterness. Chewy palate, with alcohol evident. Fine carbonation. The majority of the bitter, hop oiliness is on the finish. Tasty stuff. Enjoyed this one.

Keg at the Warburton St taproom (Cask was available but I declined), 24/05/14. Lightly hazed orange amber with a moderate off white covering. Nose is candied orange peel, bubblegum, pine, bitter hops, grapefruit. Taste is caramel malt forward, sweet licks, clementine orange, grapefruit, candied sugars. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light to semi aggressive hop bitterness in the close. Ok DIPA but a little too sweet for my liking, I imagine this would have been way too sticky on cask!
