Bottle. A hazy, dark golden beer topped by a small, light beige head. Sweetish aroma with a herbal touch and some alcohol. Fruity too, with a faint touch of dried apricots. Honey too. Slightly sourish on the palate, full-bodied and sort of dry, even though it’s quite sweet. Honey, fruityness and some alcohol in the flavor, some bitterness chiming in towards the end. Not very good or interesting one. 140301

33 cl bottle. Pours clear and golden orange with a small off white head. Aroma is peachy and grapefruity, light toasted malt. Bitter, smooth fruity. Solid dry and bitter into the finish, sharp hops profile. Bone dry.

Bottle shared at the Tuesday Evening Horal Chugging Tasting - London. Thanks to Kenwise for this British gem. Pours hazy amber with a frothy white head. Leathery dried fruits on the nose, some earth. Medium sweet flavor, a bit alcoholic, with dry bread and more dried fruits. Medium to full in body with fine carbonation. Lightly warming to finish with earthy bitterness, leathery berries and dried bread. Not bad.

Bottle, thanks to Kenny at the Tuesday Horal Chugging Tasting. It pours hazy amber with a small white head. The nose is sweet, juicy, raisin, sultana, brown sugar and brown bread. The taste is caramel, toffee, decent bitterness, raisin, stewed fig, varnish, burnt wood, spice and alcohol. Medium+ body and fine carbonation. Nothing too special, but an OK high abv English beverage nonetheless.

Craft Clerkenwell, Tuesday Horal Chugging Tasting, bottle thanks to Kenneth, 17/09/13. Murky dark amber with a thin off white head that clears edgeward. Nose is bitter fruitsm orange, hint of ginger bread biscuit. Taste comprises fruit cake, caramel, bitter orange, dark fruit, light spice. Fullish body, moderate carbonation, dryish finale. Ok barley wine but no world beater.

Craft Clerkenwell. Tuesday Horal Chugging Tasting! Hazy deep amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth and softish. The malt is not as rich as I expected but carries cream and caramel. Ripe orange hops, not too bitter. Finishes semi dry. A bit lightweight but inoffensive.

Gravity poured half-pint at The Kings Head, Norwich on 20 Apr 2013. Deep amber body with a thin white head. Sweet and malty in both the nose and taste: rich fruity notes within the maltiness, too rich to have a pint, I was on a mission anyway, the pub had four strong barrels of different beers on gravity as well as a host on hand-pull. Tried all the strong ones and three hand-pulls before moving on.
