Bottle 330ml. @ cgarvieuk [ Lets do a chrisO Tasting ], Edinburgh, Scotland. [ As Bad Seed / Revolutions Into Your Arms Aussie Red ].Unclear medium amber - red orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, fruity malt, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity malt, orange, malty, crispy. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20140315]

330ml bottle from Yorkshire Ales. Reddish amber colour, white foam head and aroma of melon, pine, green hop, pepper. Taste is dried fruits, cherry, earthy caramel, grapefruit, pine, with peppery bitterness. Smooth mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonatiom, warming dry peppery bitter finish. Quite drinkable

Bottle from Good Taste, Palace. It pours hazy deep red. The nose is pine, grapefruit, berry, jam and caramel. The taste is bitter, pine, grapefruit, dark fruits, cherry tunes, warming alcohol, dirt, resin and peppery notes with a dry, pretty bitter finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Plenty of dirty bitterness. A bit rough around the edges to be honest. Still not all that bad.

Hazy deep amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is smooth turning mildly crisp. Minerals. Smooth creamy malt, light tangy dried fruits. Light touch of twiggy bitterness. Finishes smooth and dry with a mild bitter linger. The hops are not really shining as anything out the ordinary here, would not have known they were Aussie hops. But it’s all right.

Keg at the Earl of Essex - London. Pours clear, amber-gold with a modest, off-white cream head. The nose holds lots of jammy berries, melon and bubblegum. Medium sweet flavor with more melon and bubblegum, some pine, light bready malts. Medium bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderately resinous to finish with further juicy berries, light pine, orange and bubblegum, a bit of lightly toasted bread. Solid for the style. Good balance.

Bottle from Cornelius. Murky ruby body with a medium off-white head. Great lacing. Aroma of strawberry laces, grapes, caramel and lime. Flavour is very sweet - Wine Gums and lime jelly - but there are enough IBUs here to avoid it becoming cloying and sickly. Medium body with an almost chewable texture. Soft fizz. Skilfully balanced. I think this would be ace on cask. Another hit from a consistently brilliant brewery.

First off, all Bad Seed beers should be named after Nick Cave songs. I’d love to order a pint of Mercy Seat, Deanna, Red Right Hand, Janglin’ Jack. Shit, he has so many good beer names. Big Jesus Trash Can. Love Bomb. Amazing that no one has done this before. Secondly, the beer. Friends of Ham in Leeds. Clear amber-brown thin white head. Gentle grape aromas, sweet though too. Taste had a solid bitterness, clean finish. I am aware the actual song being referenced was Into My Arms, but I don’t believe in an interventionist god, so fuck’em.
