Superficial tasting from can at train on the way to Amsterdam. Sweet, kinda smooth but also rather boozy. Dark malt, dry fruit, caramel and Bourbon. Warming aftertaste.

Can. Sweet, warming, smooth and full bodied. Bourbon, brown sugar, some coffee and roasted malts. Caramel. Nice indeed, but a bit too warming, even for a beer at this strength. 747515 251109

Donker roodbruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is krachtig warm en vol, met duidelijk de whiskey en wat karamel, pruimen, rozijnen en kandij. Opnieuw een heel goed bier van deze brouwer!

330 ml can. Pours a deep reddish mahogany with moderate bubbly head that settles quickly. Aromas of sweet caramel, light oaky whiskey, fruit and toasted malts. Drier flavors of same with just a hint of peat and copper. Very good. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Project 2025 Barley Wine Aged In Craigellachie Barrels on 07 Sep 2025 at 17:54 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8.5 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 8.5. Original review text: 330 ml can. Pours a bright dark reddish brown mahogany with light head. Aromas of treacle, sugared plums, dark fruit, soft oak and caramel malts. Flavors follow same without much barrel effect but with additional tangerine as advertised. Sweet and sticky. Tasty!

Love these barrel project BWs and this is another winner, delivering layers of sweet toasted malts, caramel and toffee malty sweetness, barrel aged oak whisky washed accents coming through, full bodied, lingering whisky infused malty finish. Lovely.

Sample from can during a 'bierproeverij' at Remko's place. Didn't take any notes, just enjoyed good beers and good company. Quite subtle peat. Whiskey BA well balanced. Ok.
