330ml bottle. Pitch black colour with average, firm, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, tan head. Dark malty aroma has notes of dark and milk chocolate, hints of black cherries, dark berries. Taste is roasty dark malty, hints of dark chocolate, dry hints of dark fruit parings, blackberry and the like, some bitter hoppy notes, some alcohol; medium body. Not overly complex for an Impy Stout, relatively light as well - not really satisfying.

Bottle shared at Jack’s Farewell Tasting, thanks to Leighton, 06/08/13. Light black with a thin light tan head. Nose is dark roast malts, berry fruits, chocolate cake, bitter raspeberries. Taste comprises chocolate, berry fruits, light mineral notes. Medium bodied with bite, fine carbonation, dry in the finale. Decent enough impy.

Bottle at Jack’s farewell tasting thanks to Leighton. It pours darkest brown with a small beige head. The nose is roasty, earth, jam, strawberry, chocolate, caramel and dark fruit. The taste is earth, toast, charcoal, jam, cherry, jammy fruits, cocoa and light liquorice with a bitter-sweet finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Not a whole lot of depth, but it is rather smooth and tasty!

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 01.02.2015
Aroma has chocolate, some cocoa, coffee notes, some soy sauce, licorice and hints of hay. Flavour is sweetish with cherry notes, some llicorice and coffee notes. Finishes with salty licorice and hints of ash. Perhaps a bit thin for this ABV, but nice still.

Bottle at London Fields Brewery in Hackney, London on 13 July 2013. Poured a very dark brown, some ruby notes when held to the light. Tan head which dissipated quite quickly. Sweet aroma or caramel and dried fruit. Dark chocolate flavours with hints of vanilla extract and some acidic notes. Middling mouth feel, quite watery for an Imperial Stout and had some quite lively carbonation. Not as I expected. Almost what I’d imagine an Imperial Milk Stout to taste like.

Bottle shared at Bruce’s in London during a tasting. I picked this one up at the brewery tap room. Pours deep brown with red highlights and a fine, quickly fading beige head. Nose has some sugary dark malts, burnt marshmallows, ripe fruits. Medium to big sweet flavor, plenty of well ripened dark fruits, dry chocolate, light bitter earth. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, simple dark malts, dark fruits, some berries and raisins. Pretty tasty stuff if not especially complex.
