On gravity at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol April 2013. Golden with a tight white head. Orange and yeasty stone fruits, big grainy malts and a moderately bitter finish. Good.

[Cask at the Hope Tap (JDW), Reading] Gold with a thick creamy head & a light fizz. The creamy lemon up front is pleasant enough; the dirty cardboardy bitterness that follows is less so. Not one of the better beers at this fest.

Cask at the moon under water JDW watford. Golden good creamy persistent head. Aroma lemon grass woody and yeast. Flavour has a Bready wheat character a little sweet initially then the bitterness comes in and the finish is dry. It is a dry grassy bitterness. Noble hip a little biting.

Cask at The Bear (JDW), Maidenhead. A clear straw pour with a thin, brilliant white, head that laced the glass nicely; fresh floral aroma; floral flavour to start with a floury body; then a pleasant, fruity, bitterness leading to a clean finish, with some dry wheaty biscuit to end - Jacob’s Cream Crackers come to mind. Overall a refreshing summer beer.

Golden with a small head. It has a potent aroma with an aniseed edge, but not a huge amount of ’wheat’ character.

10th April 2013
Hamilton Hall Spoons. Clear gold beer, little white head. Palate is light, semi dry and slightly crisp. Pleasant orange marmalade and lemony citrus with a whisper of bubblegum. Marmalade bitter linger. Not bad at all but not very wheaty.
