A beer for connoisseurs and aficionados. India Pale Ale is named after those famous ales that, beginning in the seventeenth century, were loaded on ships headed for India. Since the ships had to cross the equator and there was no refrigeration of any type on board, the Pale Ale destined for India had a higher alcohol content and was made with a generous measure of hops, enabling it to better withstand long voyages. In revisiting this beer style, Theresianer Master Brewers chose to emulate the magnificent and traditional intense hoppiness. When combined with long aging, the result is a surprising aroma with floral and citrus nuances, and a distinct bitterness that fades to leave the impression of a nicely balanced body.

Bottled. Hazy golden colour with a mediumsized white head. Aroma is citrus, some zest and mild herbal tones. Flavour is fruity, sweet malts, some floral notes. Not that bitter. Needs more of, well everything...

Bottle bought in Italy at a supermarket. Hazy dark gold, small head. Citrus and caramel nose. Quite a bit of caramel, balances the more moderate bitterness, citrus and a hint of pine resin. No big failures, quite simple but nice!

Sample from 75cl bottle at BeerAttraction 2018, in Rimini, Italy. Pours an intense brilliant gold with limited white foam, very fine. Aroma is delicate malty/caramel, fruity. Body is light, with light carbonation. Taste is unpleasant, kind of bitter. Finish is average.
