Keg @ Knott Bar, Manchester. 7.2% (same as the bottled version). Black with a thin off-white head. Has a sweetened roasted malt in aroma and taste. It doesn’t feel its strength and has an underlying milkiness.

Tap at Cross Scythes, Sheffield. Just about black. Tan, thin, lasting head. Dark fruit chocolate truffle. Vanilla. Sweet, ripe, dark fruit. Hint of roast coffee. Taste is fruitcake sweet. Then a big roast dryness. Roast bitterness at the end. Sweetness remains in the background, though. A light saltiness in there, too. Long, dark chocolate, bitter finish. And all at £4 a pint!! Beautiful.
