(Cask at Cock Tavern, Hackney, London, 23 Apr 2015) Pale yellow colour with brief, white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of lemon, grapefruit, grass and a touch of resin. Fruity, hoppy taste with citrus, grass, grapefruit, tropical fruit and a dry finish with a generous citric bitterness. Light body, quite dry. Fresh and tasty. Nice one.

Cask at The Cockio Taverno. It pours clear pale gold with a small white head. The nose is skunky hops, grass, lemon verbena, floral and lemongrass. The taste is crisp, clean, bitter, piney, skunky action, grapefruit rind, soapy and bitter orange with a drying finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. One of their better pale ales fo sho.

Cask at the Cock, 12/06/14 - rating #2,000 for 2014! Clear light golden with a moderate off white covering that hangs around. Nose is earthy hops with light skunkings, mandarin, spice, sprucey wood ring, bitter grapefruit. Taste comprises skunky hops, pine jacket, orange pith, bitter grapefruit, straw, earthy. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, drying close with a good coating of hop bitterness. Great dirty sessioner, hops in abundance for the ABV, long live Session IPA’s !

Cask handpump at the cock tavern with a scummy thin white. Golden colour light straw. Aroma is composed of berry leather, tobacco and smoked phenols. Flavour is light lemon, some nelson sauvin character. Clean pale ale and light biscuit malts with light citrus. Hops are nice are berry hedgerow hops.

Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Cock Tavern. Pours lightly hazy gold with a fine, foamy white head. Smells amazing, lots of dry grapefruit, tangerine and pineapple. Light sweet flavor with crispy pale malts, lots more pithy grapefruit, some bitter citrus rind, hints of pine needles. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Dry, pithy citrus finish, lots of bitter citrus rind, grapefruit, mild tangerine. Pretty exceptional for a hoppy, low ABV sessioner. (3.8)

Light sweet flavor, moderately bitter, lemon peel, sand, more hay and rocks, minerals. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Super dry and crisp to finish, further lemon rind bitterness. Not bad. (3.4)

At the Cock Tavern brewpub. Cask. Hazy gold beer, little white head. Light semi dry palate. Typical Howling Hops rich hoppiness! Long may it continue! Skunky start with good fruity follow through! Bitterish orange, pithy lime, passion fruit. Good hop intensity. Finishes light and dry with bitter lime and grapefruit linger. Good stuff!
