A traditional Farmhouse saison or ‘seasonal’ style beer brewed for it’s rich flavor and character. Four select yeast strains are used to brew this complex, fruity and aromatic beer. An abundance of whole cone Fuggle & Golding hops create a delicate balance with the malted barley, wheat & oats.

Bottle, 0.75l, shared with friends. Hazy golden orange color with large frothy white head, great lacing and average sparkling appearance. Aroma of wheat, citrus, hay, yeast, alcohol and notes of honey. Taste starts with light sweet and sour grainy malt, following is mild vinous with ripe fruits and some funkiness, mouthfeel is warming spicy with moderate bitter finish. Medium to full body, slick texture and average carbonation in palate. Very refreshing and rich saison with well hidden alcohol...

Bottle, Whole Foods Honolulu. Hazy blonde. Aroma is fairly footy yeast character. Palate is similar, but with a light fruitiness and gentle pale malt character. Overall, I prefer the brett version, because it brings extra dimensions of complexity. The yeastiness here is a bit stale/old, wonder if the beer sat on it too long.

Pours bright gold into a tulip. Bright white head with excellent retention recedes leaving spider lacing to coat surface. Funky earth and citrus aromas. Soft with dusty caramel and funk upfront turning to yeast in the medium length finish.

Bottle share at Kernel Huge thanks to Paul Unwin for muling this over the atlantic. Aroma is earthy light fruit, pineapple, hints of funk and brett?. Cloudy light orange colour with a frothy white head. Flavour is earthy, orange, lemon, belgian saison yeast, touches of phenols, hint of funk.. Medium dry in the finish with velvety spritzy carb that lifts it off the tongue. Very very tasty.
