Bottled. Black colour, small but longlasting off-white head. Aroma is chocolate, cocoa, tar and some liquorice too. Flavour is roasted, tarry, some dark chocolate, ash as well as some figs and dried fruits. Quite hoppy in the finish, with a wee bit Chardonnay like tones too.

Bottle split at Pedro leaving drinks, CBC Clerko, big thanks to fellow XDA bro LKX for this #, 24/04/15. Black with a big ole tan covering that retains well. Nose is dank hops, pissy straw, tar, light smoke, charr effect, tangy red berry, wooded ttones, pine needle. Taste comprises earthy hops, liquorice, charr, light pine, red grape must, cocoa rub, shades of tropicana. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close, earthy hop strokes at the curtain call. Bottle thanks to Leighton. It pours darkest brown/black with a thick tan head. The nose is bitter-sweet, tangy, white wine, roasted malt, sherbet, cocoa, vanilla and wood. The taste is bitter, rich roast, cocoa, earth, liquorice, coffee, piney, charred wood, booze, oily.action and pithy citrus with a dry finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Pretty punchy stuff. Good fun though.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell during the Peter’s leaving do. Picked up from Etre. Pours deep brown with a dense, frothy beige head. The nose is immense, chock full of burnt wood, pine, dark chocolate and cedar. Medium sweet flavor with dominant charred malt character, some burnt popcorn, bread, grapefruit and orange rind, pine oils. Medium to full bodied with average, massaging carbonation. Finishes with drying burnt wood and ash, some scorched earth, bitter chocolate, some citrus rind. Lingering ashy roast. Pretty punchy, especially on the roast/ash front.
