English Pale malts coupled with Challenger and Goldings hops provide the bitterness and aroma. The result is a highly distinctive light, golden ale, with caramel aromas, a pleasing toffee apple flavour and a late bitterness.

En maltig öl för att vara så ljus. Säd och ljust bröd ställs mot en främst besksträv humlekaraktär. Får drag av torr besk pilsner men med en tydlig engelsk humlesmak.

Bottle from Tesco in Cambridge. Golden color with almost no head. Aroma, fruity, hops and yeast. Taste starts fruity continues with strong malty taste with nice long bitter finish. Drinkable beer.

Bottle from Vrutak in Zagreb. Poured a nice golden body with a small white head. Slightly fruity (apricot?) malty nose. Bready maltiness in the taste, some herbal hops, going lemony for moments, relatively bitter. Slightly woody, maybe even notes of caramel. Ok enough, nothing too grand, would have it again if not for the inflated price.

Very small head over pale yellow-amber bere. Hops and fresh barley malt vie about supremacy in the nose, grassy touches. The same return in the mouth, but the hops, very fresh and very UK are more in force. The hoparomas are really great retronasal, whilst in the aftertaste, some strange sherrytouches mix in. Graindistillate touches. Very good, surprising beer, not hampered by the green-glass bottle in my sample.

0.5 l bottle. It poured clear golden body with small head. Very weak, some unidentified hop aroma. Bitterish to sour flavor, herbal hoppy and somewhat smooth caramel honey and pollen malty. Thinner body with nice, but shorter sweetish to acidic finish. Light, unimpressive golden ale.

500 ml bottle purchased at the Whole Foods in Coral Springs, Florida. Pour is a clear golden with a one inch egg white head. Aroma of mild chemical sweetness and grain malt. There is an herbal element behind that, and its a touch disjointed. Taste is chemical sweet and almost a sour edge, along with toasty grain malt. Orange peel lingers a bit, along with the herbal of the nose. Palate is medium bodied, coats the mouth some and the herbal clove taste lingers. I didn’t care for this one too much.

From a 500ml bottle on 12/1/2010. Interesting aroma, grassy with more than a touch of honey. Tastes sweet, with more honey, nuts and caramel. This beer is a true hop monster - it finishes with an extreme (and rather lovely) lingering bitterness. An unusual and impressive golden ale, which I think is underrated on here.

bottle, Waitrose Abergavenny. Clear golden colour with a mid-sized white head. Malty with flavours of citrusy hops and a touch of orange marmalade. Shy hints of barnyard detectable.
