English Pale malts coupled with Challenger and Goldings hops provide the bitterness and aroma. The result is a highly distinctive light, golden ale, with caramel aromas, a pleasing toffee apple flavour and a late bitterness.

Biggish offwhite lasting head. Coppery body. Dusty roasty grainy aroma with bready notes. Sweet roasty grainy taste with dusty caramel notes. Mild mouthfeel. Mid-to-full body. Dry strawy grainy aftertaste with roasty wooden earthy notes. Excellent, and highly drinkable. Delicately balanced, harmonic. (0.5l bottle, Centra, Oslo.)

(bottle) Almost clear, golden colour with a medium-sized and slightly off-white foamy head. Moderately sweet cara-malty and slightly bready aroma with subtle fruity notes and a mild herbal and shy floral hoppy touch. Moderately bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a rather smooth carbonation. Bready cara-malty taste with an ethereally, almost minty touch combined with herbal hops; quite dry and bitter hoppy, but also a bit slim finish. A tad too one-dimensional (06.VII.09).

Pours a slightly hazy gold into an English pint. Bright white head recedes to coat surface leaving spot lacing. Biscuit, grain and skunk aromas. Medium-bodied upfront with sweet malts turning crisp in the abrupt barely hopped finish.

A hazy golden ale with a thick dissipating off white head. Light caramel malt and British hops in aroma. In mouth, a light caramel malt with nutty torrefied notes, and metallic hops. Medium bodied. Bought at LCBO.

500 ml bottle, courtesy of Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 4.7%. Deep golden colour, moderate white head. Very moderate aroma, weak notes of hops and grain, hints of toffee and biscuits. The flavour has decent hops on a slightly sweet base of moderate malts, with a hint of caramel. Distinct hoppy bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. Not a bad beer, but far from the best offering from St. Peter’s.

This ale poured a light orange colour with a quickly vanishing white head. To the nose there is is scents of pine, citrus, grass and a hint of pineapple. First taste was smooth and very hoppy with flavours of citrus and juniper berries. Bitter finish with hoppy flavours lingering. Not bad, surprized its only got a 34 overall.

Bottle: Poured a light copper color ale with a dirty white foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry English hops with a dry malt base. Taste is slightly bitter from the hops with a nondescript malt base. No flaw could be detected and overall I would have to say that the beer was really refreshing but also lacking some characteristics such as some floral notes.

[500ml bottle from bar on Southwold pier] Drank this in a stunning location - on a pier overlooking the beautiful town of Southwold (with, admittedly, the Sizewell nuclear power station in the distance too!). It all felt very decadent, and frankly deserved a better beer than this. It’s initially sour, weak and watery. A little dry herby hops make their way through for a short time before being overtaken by a disgusting sourness in the aftertaste that lingered through a cup of coffee, an ice cream, and several other attempts to get rid of it. A grim beer indeed.

500ml bottle. More amber coloured than gold with a moderate off-white head. Sweet aroma of apricots, caramel and earthy hops. Flavour had some sweet malt, citrus hops and a short, bitter finish. Seemed like an average bitter to me.
