Black color with a fine tan head. Good lacing. Looks nice. Fine intensity in the aroma. Medium + body and a smooth carbonation level. Easy to drink. Semi dry texture and a fine nice tail. Chocolate, pine, grapefruit hoppy, fruity, some resin and dark malt in the flavor. Solid.

Keg at the brewery tap, 17/06/17. Light black with a modest tan cap that soon clears to spotting. Nose is charr, toffee, earthy tones, light spice, dusty hops. Taste comprises chocolate flakes, pine needle, toffee, earthy roast, brown bread. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Ok CDA.

Keg at the brewery, as just ’Black IPA 6.0%’. Hazy deep red - brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is smooth and semi dry, decent fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, some cream, trace of roast and a little dark chocolate. Nice fruity mid, even a little fruit sherbet. Mild pine. Smooth finish. To be frank I though this would be okay at best but it’s pretty good. Southwark maybe coming on after some of those early beers that were not very good at all.

Keg at the brewery taproom. Pours clear red-brown with a creamy, beige head. The nose holds light chocolate, some ripe berries, mellow roast. Light-medium sweet flavour with notes of well toasted malts, light ashy roast, cocoa, burnt pine, orange and grapefruit. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes lightly resinous, with more burnt pine, orange rind, grapefruit and cocoa. Actually quite good.
