Eye of the Hawk is an excellent, strong, rich bodied ale that is "Bottle Conditioned" to perfection. "Eye" is coppery reddish-amber in color and its unique taste is the result of a judicious mix of caramel and pale malted barley, balanced with Cluster, Cascade and Saaz hops. This gives the Eye its luxurious flavor, substantial mouth-feel and that slightly dry finish.

Copper color. Minimal hops, much less than I expected. Some sweet malt in the flavor.

Pour is a copper with a nice size tan head. Aroma is mostly caramel malts and not much else. Flavor is more caramel malts with some butterscotch and alcohol. I did not get much of the hops. Still this is just an ok beer for sipping.

Bottle Nose is grainy caramel malt with a citrus note; amber with a medium beige head that quickly disappears; flavor is sweet caramelwith a little hop bitterness in the finish. if it’s 8% the alcohol is covered completely!

Eye of the hawk pours like a cloudy apple cider. Has the aroma of a strong ale like a trippel or something. Pretty strong alcohol confrontation on the taste buds. Carbonation is weak but present. Only the finest malts and traditional hops are used. When I hear superlatives on the label, makes me nervous……finest in whose opinion? Quite aggressive flavor. Nosfuratu is much more refined and this is less enjoyable than east end snow melt. Finish is almost like it’s forcing you to catch a buzz. Quite bitter, but fades in a minute to just plain ‘what was that?’ Reminds me of the ‘in your faceness’ of lion stout.

Bottle. Mostly clear, golden beer with an off-white head and some yeast-flakes. Alcohol, hops, sweetness and malt in the aroma. The flavor is sweet, with some alcohol, bitterness and fruits. Medium body and a finish with alcohol and hops. Well-balanced, pleasant beer. Rating: 6-4-7-3-14-3.4. 061013

Bottle. A lightly unclear, golden beer topped by a dense, white head leaving curtains. Lighlty citrusy and resiny on the nose with some sugary hints. Nice bitterness in the flavor, dealing with the sweetness from the malts. Resiny and citrusy flavors too. Medium body, pleasant carbonation, and a lightly bitter, lasting finish. A quite pleasant and tasteful beer, but far from extraordinary. 111222

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours amber golden with a slight haze with a small, off-white head. Lovely nose containing fruit and caramel. Medium-bodied with lots of caramel and some overripe fruit. Quite delicate really. 300406

Hazy copper color. The aroma is light, fruity, with some toffee. Medium mouthfeel, malty; gets thinner at the end, and more warming (alcohol). Some sweetness and medium-high fruity bitterness. Doesn’t fly.

An orange beer with a dying beige head. The aroma is sweet hoppy with loads of caramel. The flavor is sweet with caramel being most dominant, but also a light touch of aroma hops, before a dry slightly grassy end sets in.
