500ml Bottle: BBD 28th July 2013. Poured into a Franziskaner Weissbier glass at home on 23rd July 2013. Underwhelmed by this to be honest. Looked OK, golden, almost clear (it is now a crystal wheat beer according to the front label): good deep foaming white crown on top with plenty of carbonisation bubbles rising through the body. Hardly any aroma (certainly no banana/clove or vanilla smells) like I hoped for. Mini grain notes in the nose otherwise very little of anything. The taste was also a let down: very bland and boring. Hints of grain flavours (wheat and corn), they must have forgotten to add the orange peel and coriander to my brew kettle because there was no indication they were there. Refreshing enough: but so is water!

Bottle from Deeside Drink Emporium. It pours golden amber with a thin white head. The nose is wheat, citrus, elderflower, banana bread, faint spice and earth. The taste is bitter orange peel, wheat, dough, earth, light spice, herbal notes and soap with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. So-so.

50cl bottle from the Sainsbury’s Beer Hunt range. Amber with a fast fading white head and heavy carbonation; the aroma has some grain and some orange fruit; fruity flavour; and a gentle vegetable bitterness to finish. Hasrdly a Hefeweizen though.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Light orange pour with a white head. Tangerine, mango and lemon peel aroma. Caramel and citrus flavour. Quite a fruity number. Fruity finish. Not too bad.

Starts with an almost floral scent. The taste is an odd combination of what tastes like some sort of spice with a sweeter edge, though none of the flavours really dominate.

Bottle from Sainsburys. Amber with a slight white head and plenty of carbonation. Sweet, grains and citrus fruit aroma with a hint of spice. Flavour had some caramel, more fruit and a gently bitter finish. Fine.

500ml bottle. Pours a clear orange with a small head. Aroma is dusty, yeasty lemon with a little coriander. Taste has a little orange malt to start with a dusty, spicy coriander finish.

50cl bottle thanks to Lewis. Pours dark honey in colour. Nose of resin and stalky vegetables. The taste has honey and mountain herbs. The palate is medium bodied and textured with a reasonably clean finish. Overall, it’s not a bad beer - but it’s NOT A GERMAN HEFE IT’S A WIT.

Bottle from Tomlinsons Beer Shop, Inverness
Amber, crystal clear, thin white head that dissipates to rim
Aroma - very light caramel malt, very light toffee, slight spices ?ginger?...aroma is very very faint
Taste - caramel malts, light soft toffee, bit fruity, slight spices, after a while a bit of orange comes though, bit lacking in flavour here - definitely not a hefeweizen flavour - easy drinking though
Palate - very soft carb, thin body, slighly oily texture, touch of bitterness. Finish as main flavour, rapid, dull, bit of bitter toasted biscuit in the tail
Overall - Nothing like the style - but that’s not important to me - just as a beer it’s a bit bland to me.....it’s certainly better on cask as I remember it
