Starts out like a normal stout, some coffee and chocolate but then segues into vanilla and sweet bourbon.

At Chriso pre GBBF Shindig 2013. Black beer lasting tan head. Chocolate sponge aroma. A decent imperial stout some boozy heat on the finish.

Bottle, many thanks to Colin. It pours opaque black with a medium tan head. The nose is roasted malt, toast, marshmallow, vanilla, toasted coconut and cocoa. The taste is roasted malt, toast, earth, cocoa, vanilla, coconut, warming alcohol, earth, light charcoal and mild acidity with a dry, roasty finish. Full body, moderate carbonation and velvety mouth-feel. Good depth and well-integrated flavour. Not over the top thankfully. Rather well done.

Craft Clerkenwell Tasting. Thanks our Colin. Opaque dark brown - black beer. Good tan head. Palate is light, soft, fluffy and a little dry. Very fluffy light dark malts! Whispers of roast and coffee. Decent bourbon, somewhat spicy. Trace of vanilla. Quite a dry finish. I wrote this down as 9.6%.

Bottle split at CBC tasting, thanks to MJ for trading me this one, 26/06/13. Mid black with a dirty tan head that dissipates to a light film. Nose is big dark roast, subtle bourbon, oaky, bitter chocolate, sugars, toffee fudge. Taste comprises cocoa, dark toffee, oaky, good trace of booze, sugars, big roast bite. Full bodied, soft carbonation making for an easy drinking impy, good boozey hit in the finish but well integrated and not OTT. A very good impy stout, well balanced carrying a boozey kick but well integrated in this respect.

Bottle shared at CBC Clerkenwell - massive thanks to Colin for sharing this whale. Pours pitch black with a thick and creamy beige-brown head. Burnt toast in the nose, some burnt marshmallows, roasted malts, dark chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor but not at all cloying, with gooey chocolate, burnt bread, dark fruits. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Moderate warmth at the end with bitter dark chocolate, light alcohol, dry wood, dirt, cocoa. Great stuff. Good balance, good depth.

Bottle - Sticky molasses, vanilla, bitter chocolate and bourbon. Jet black and minimal brown head. Brown sugar, vanilla, chocolate ...... So much is going on I don’t care to write just drink. This is no Dark Lord but for the price it is a killer. If you can get it buy it, I am going now to wipe out my local store stock.
