Cask @ Bedford Arms, Bedford. Lager/golden ale yellow. Sulphurous Burton-y aroma. Very similar taste with sweetness overlaying the astringency. Not Growler’s finest hour but drinkable.

Bree Louise. Cask. Light haze on this gold beer, no real head. Palate is light and smooth. Very modest mild carbonation. Sweetish grainy malt. Little citrus and mild skunk. Finishes smooth. Much too grainy, not good.

Cask at the Alexandra Arms, Cambridge. Pours clear gold with a light, white foam head. Simple pale malt nose with light, tangy citrus notes. Light to medium sweet flavor with pale malts, light dough, some hay bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, some mellow citrus fruits, orange, white bread. Basic but sessionable.

(Cask at Castle, Chancery Lane, London, 20 Nov 2012) Golden amber colour with brief, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of honey, apricots, dried fruit and toast. Malty, fruity taste with honey, apricots, treacle, dried fruit and a light bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain malt sweetness. Decent, but hardly exciting.
